Who are we?
Christian CND is working to promote the Abolition 2000 campaign by encouraging church leaders and local church groups to endorse the Abolition 2000 statement: to achieve for the 21st Century a signed agreement committing the world to the permanent elimination of nuclear weapons according to a fixed timetable.
Archbishop Desmond Tutu has signed Abolition 2000 stating, "I am most willing to endorse the Abolition 2000 statement and to support the campaign calling on governments to commit the world to the permanent elimination of nuclear weapons."
We ask congregations to consider the nuclear weapons programme in the light of the Gospel, and of course as a Christian group, our work is rooted in prayer and reflection.
In some parts of the country we have local groups, and we work closely with all Christian justice and peace organisations on nuclear issues.
